Male Hormone May Prevent Alzheimer's!
According to recent studies, when brain cells are exposed to testosterone, a form of protein healthy for nerve cells is produced, rather than the type that has been attributed to causing Alzheimer's disease. Scientists are hopeful that these new findings may one day help prevent Alzheimer’s.
Other studies have shown that estrogen had similar protective effects on nerve cells and women taking estrogen after menopause were found to have a reduced risk of developing Alzheimer’s. Based on these findings, scientists are recommending both estrogen and testosterone for postmenopausal women.
Cremes containing testosterone are available by prescription. Discuss whether hormone replacement therapy is right for you with your physician.
To help counteract some of the effects of hormonal loss, due to aging, nutritional therapies can also be helpful. Those over 40 years of age may benefit from taking MDR Vital Factors , which contains soy phytoestrogens and natural HGH enhancers that help maintain the health and youthful vitality of the body.
